“Life is made up of small pleasures.
Happiness is made up of those tiny successes.
The big ones come too infrequently.
And if you don’t collect all these tiny successes,
the big ones don’t really mean anything.”
– Norman Lear
Do not let the little successes slip through the cracks, like Norman Lear said “The big ones come too infrequently” if you are waiting to find joy from the big things in life you will be searching far too often and miss out on the little successes right in front of you. Life has a way of putting little hints of joy, like a trail of bread crumbs that lead you through life and if you are calm, in tune with what is going on in life and open to that fact that there are blessings in some of the worst times in life you one day will see its not the big things in life that matter, it’s the small joys that create a lifetime of happiness. There is a huge difference in having joy in your life and not having turmoil, the lack of chaos is not the presence of joy.
“Joy is what happens to us
when we allow ourselves
to recognize how good things really are.”
– Marianne Williamson
I am learning to see the little joys in life, even in this time of chaos and I see how much I have missed out on for so long. I do not regret my past and at times I miss how thing were and this new chapter of my life opens up limitless possibilities. Sure I wish things could be different and I wouldn’t change a thing if I had the choice, I am where I should be and the reasons are not for me to understand.
